Tasker doesn't even get recorded on my battery usage list, and I have about 15 profiles running. For what it does, the battery drain is well worth it.
Well said.
I have about 40 profiles enabled calling a set of 57 tasks (some nested), including some that do some fairly battery heavy work (e.g. location & weather forecast retrieval using reverse geocoding, driving a large home screen widget created using Zoom).
Typically I don't see Tasker in my battery usage at all, on occasion it shows up at 2%.
When I first started using Tasker I was seeing higher battery usage (5 to 7%), so I rewrote most of the location based tasks using the guide
Location without Tears
This helped me reduce the battery usage.
That said, I would probably still use Tasker even if the battery usage was 5%; it is the first app I load on a new phone and my first port of call when tweaking my phone (e.g. I use it to work around a peculiarity of my car's bluetooth kit when connecting).
