thinking of getting this dock

these look cool and the one u stated is def good with the spare battery but why cant i plug it into a wall?

t thought the same thing. but that can be easily rectified with a converter

if thats the case then its a go. I like the design and def the price, esp with a spare battery. Do all these docks have the same capability as far as automatically starting the clock app?

look buck it charges the via the usb but charges the spare via the wall plug

The cradle features a spare battery charger - great to have if you have multiple batteries. If you want to use the cradle's spare battery charger, you also need to connect the bundled AC adapter. The AC adapter does not charge your device, it only provides power to the battery slot.

This cradle looks stupid in my opinion. Any dock that is going to use a manual plug insted of the pins on the bottom of the phone is a waste. Having my phone standing up like that, plugged in, feels like it is a nasty accident waiting to happen.

my main concern would be that usb charges way too sloooowwwww. and that would be the case even with a converter. its also kind of dumb (imho) to have two plugs. one for the phone and one for an extra battery. docks that charge via usb dont make much sense to me. just use a usb cable. the only difference is that it wont stand up on its own. oh no! the thought of having to lay it down on the desk...horror! so far the only dock that kind of makes sense to me is the one from google. it uses the metal connectors on the bottom and nothing needs to be pluged in. but if you have a case on your phone forget about it.

I bought a spare battery to give me enough juice to last me throughout the day. Thats why I need this cradle since it has the slot for the spare battery charging as well as the phone at the same time. Could you imagine how annoying it would be to charge your phone from 0-100% in an hour an a half then have to do it all over again for the spare battery?! No way I am chancing it...

I feel your pain though on the usb charging... seems quite lame since it charges at 1/2 the speed of a regular ac cable charger. If I could just have one ac plug which charged both that would be perfect. I'll let you guys know how it works out once I get it in the next few days...

Yeah I purchased it from amazon for like $15 + $3 shipping about 3 days ago it should be here tomorrow or Monday so I'll let you guys know what I think about it soon

I don't think they thought that one through.

I think it should have the AC adapter for both the Phone and the Spare. I don't believe that theres so much power that you would need an AC adapter for the battery alone and a USB connected for the Phone. Also leads me to believe that if they DID allow you to charge both at the same time, they would want you to plug in two bulky AC adapters from one dock.

If it works for you it works, but I'm sorry it looks stupid to me.

It's a shame that no other dock I've seen looks as nice as the official Google one.

Might have to put up with the extortionate delivery cost to the UK.

I was thinking of purchasing the same dock for my N1. How do you like it? I need to get one for home and another for work. I would appreciate your feedback if you can comment on it.

Oh man... I just got it in the mail yesterday and I have to give it two thumbs up! =]

It works flawlessly and best of all the ac plug works for BOTH the spare battery and N1 charging at the same time!!! (I thought it was two separate plugs needed to charge both, which would have sucked)

Def better than the google one imo and well worth it for $18.00 ;)

I bought 2 of these docks, and also have to google nexus one dock by my bed as an alarm clock. One of these docks goes in my home office, and the other goes to work. They work very well.

Speaking of which, anybody know how to make the clock application go to alarm clock mode sooner? It's awfully bright when I dock it and crawl into bed. Also, any apps that let you wake to music followed by a buzzer while not losing the coolness of the alarm clock?
