Third Thunderbolt, trade for a Nexus?

I've had 3 thunderbolts now.

First one I got in April and it would randomly restart when using cretin apps. (gmail for instance) So back to Verizon it went.

Got my "certified like-new replacement" and the microphone didn't work so I sent that one back too. After I sent it back Verizon claimed they never got it and charged my account $500, after 2 weeks of phone calls Verizon saw they had received my phone then sent it out to another poor soul and took the $500 off my account.

On my 3rd one now and it has randomly shut off since I got it. I could live with it when it was once a week especially after what happened when I sent my last one back. But the shut downs have gotten worse and worse, its up to 2 or 3 times a day. It will be sitting in my pocket or desk and I go to check it and its off.

I want a new phone. Do you think Verizon will let me trade it for a Nexus?

You might be able to but it would be easier and better for you to see if they will let you upgrade early. I don't think they will let you trade it. I was approved for an "alternate replacement" to a Razr from my Bionic but they did not have any available and told me to call back. Well I called back and even though it was notated they refused to honor it.

The point is make sure they roll over your upgrade while you are on the phone and check it. If not they may not honor what another rep has agreed to and you will have to fight with them all over again like I had to do.

My wife went thru 5 Droid eris's before they sent her a Droid 2. And that was like pulling teeth with customer service. Good luck!!
