This site - why/how?

I'm a tad annoyed with the SGS4G telling me I should use 4G instead of my own wifi. So I was checking to see if I could really check a few web sites using my own wifi, and Android Forums (this site) was one I typed in. Made sure I could connect on wifi, disconnected from the web, and lo and behold, there's an Android Forum Icon on the desktop.

I went looking through apps. the phone is rooted so I looked using Titanium also, and didn't find an app. I threw the icon in the trash. I've been checking and nothing is running.

Why and how did this site stick an icon on my phone without my permission?

I don't think I need an AV, I want a firewall, and a hosts file on the phone!

Sounds like you mistakenly added a link/bookmark to your desktop. Is this a recurring thing or a one time thing? I've never experienced this issue and I use both the app and the browser

I think I might have added the link. I was trying to bookmark the page. Usually bookmark means browser only. I've got FF and Opera on the PC, and the bookmarks are in the browser files, not on the computer screen when I boot up.
