This is an app that let's you make calls and send texts from a WiFi network when you have no mobile signal. Initial use looks good.

Slightly o/t but if you log in to your account online you can set up free WiFi usage in London Underground stations (where available). They are in partnership with Virgin Media. Does seem a bit odd though, tubes are every few minutes & it'll take that long to log on, so not much use for most people... maybe at the extreme ends of the day?
