Three Cleveland Women Missing Almost a Decade Found Alive - ABC News

Three young women who vanished a decade ago near their homes in
Cleveland were found only miles from where they disappeared, and three
men have been arrested in relation to the incident, according to police.

On a 911 call released tonight Berry can be heard asking
police for help.
"Hello police help me I'm Amanda Berry," she said in the
call. "I've been kidnapped and I've been missing for 10
years and I'm here. I'm free now. ... I've been in the news
for the last 10 years ... with Gina."

This is a story that brings such mixed emotions. Obviously it is great news that they have finally been found, but I hate to think what they have endured for the last decade. There was a child apparently fathered by one of these monsters. the kidnappers were three brothers. Best wishes to the victims, I hope they are able to pick up the pieces and go on with their lives.

There really are such mixed emotions. On the one hand, they're alive--and their families now have closure, unlike those of people who vanish and there's never even a trace of them again. But one of the women's mothers died before they were rescued, and I can only imagine the heartache she went to her grave with. There will be much healing to be done, not just by the victims but their families as well. But humans are very resilient, and with proper mental health care their futures can be bright.

Let's hope the monster who kidnapped and held them is punished accordingly.

This is a very happy ending for those who was held captive. As mention, alot of healing will have to be done mentally. I hope they all recover fully also.

It remind me of a case like this that happen in the St. Louis area a few years back. The one male was kidnapped as a youth and he was held for years before being rescued.

Good luck to all.

Every time I hear that 911 call it gets to me when she says "I'm free now..." You can just hear the joy and relief in her voice. At the same time you just know it must have been surreal to be out after all of that time, in some strange neighbor's house, finally able to call for help. She must have felt like she was dreaming, probably scared that she would wake up at any minute. And that picture of her smiling in the hospital, she looks so happy.

It is also a reinstallment of hope for those families who have missing persons out there still. It is a great thing that these women were able to get free, I hope they are able to stay away from the media long enough to adjust to their new lives, their free lives.

I can't believe McDonald's is trying to capitalize on this. But they are. One of the rescuers, Charles Ramsey, mentioned in the 911 call that he was eating food from McDonald's when all the commotion started, and now McD's is trying to get publicity as part of this horrific-story-with-a-happy-ending. Amazing.

I can't believe an upstanding corporate citizen like McDonald's would stoop so low...

On a more positive note I heard that the man that helped free them said if he gets any reward he will be giving it to the women to help with their recovery. He is an outstanding citizen.

well.. that is cool.. sounds good and easy to say.. harder to do.

It was funny what he said.. when a young cute white girl runs into the arms of a black man, you know something is wrong. LOL

today they charged one brother and released the other 2. I can not see how they did not know what was going on in that house. they lived there..right?

I understood that the two released brothers lived together but not at that address. I could well be wrong however. The entire drama boggles the mind. A decade is a decade man... how could anything like that go on for a decade without being unearthed?

I cannot understand how a human being could do something so evil!!! He truly is a monster! I kinda hope he gets the death sentence, but that's really an easy way out,he should suffer for what he did too those poor girls!

It seems crazy, but it happens. I believe Jaycee Dugard was held in a backyard for 18 years.

Yeah, I think life in prison would be a worse punishment than death for this guy considering the way people who commit crimes against children get treated in prison. No doubt there have been other victims over the years as well. Amazing that he was a school bus driver.

Not only was she--and the children she bore--held in a suburban backyard, but over the 18 years authorities came to the property multiple times. Somehow, the sleazeball kidnapper/rapist managed to talk them out of searching the house or backyard. That's one of those things that makes you go "hmmmm..."

at first I heard the story I thought how could that be going on for such a long time.
I still think authorities did not do the best job. Neighbors claim that they called police many times regarding that house of horror and cops did not do crap.

This guy is a true evil genius. There are more surprises inside the house. I'm not even going to be surprised if any of girls developed Stockholm Syndrom. He probably brainwashed them at first, putting them through emotional turtures at first.

I really hope he is getting a death sentence.
