three uk software update

hi all, newbie here, both to android and the forum. Decided to give the S3 a go after many years with the iphone and I'm impressed so far. Only frustration being the complete lack of software updates on my handset on Three in the uk. Finally they announced new software on twitter yesterday and I managed to update today via kies (trying to update over the air said no update available). Anyway the first thing I did after the update was look for the brightness slider in pull down notification menu yet its not there. Do I need to switch this on in settings, if so which option? I have a feeling this isn't the latest software and in fact we've just been given the first release that samsung made. The build number ends ALF6, I'm sure this isn't the latest. Anyone else found the same? Pretty pathetic on three's part!

No it comes with xxblfb. There have been 3 (real) updates since lf6.

Best thing you can do is find the thread that tells you how to use Odin to get unbranded firmware

Yeah, you should actually flash a stock unbranded firmware, that would be the best solution. Three is just a pain in a$$ when it comes to updates etc.

thanks guys. Am I right in thinking I need windows to flash unbranded software? Coming from the apple world my personal computer is a mac so I'm a bit stuck unless there's a mac solution?
