Help .thumbnail files

dympz

Lurker
I have recently stumbled across the .thumbnail file on my Samsung Galaxy S5 device. When I click on it it shows a list of files all named movie_ then a series of numbers. Since I know I have no movies on my phone as I do not watch movies or stream movies on my phone this got me a little confused.

I clicked into the movie files and the each had a similar kind of link that when clicked upon said no apps can open this. The links are all similar beginning with a series of numbers then listview.lvl

This has me confused as I have not watched or streamed any movies.

Can anyone elaborate on this please?

[Q] Excessive Thumnails

.thumbnails folder EXPLODES while charging

Hi ironass,

Thanks for your quick reply. I will have a look at the links but it probably will go straight over my head.

The post on excessive thumbnails seems to point in the same direction... He has stated the same movie files and contents as I see on my device

In that folder are 13 files for each video - 12 named "filename.0000.lvl" to "filename.0011.lvl", plus a 13th file named "filename.ListView.lvl".

A guy replied to him saying it is "animated", this is confusing to me... I have also found on Google that the .thumbnail is auto created and deleted after a certain amount of time, 6 months or so I think.

I don't know where I'm going with this.
