Help Thumbnail image shows more photo area than actual image

lt1981

Lurker
When I take a picture and look at the thumbnail preview, it shows more of the picture area than when I actually view the image. For example, I took a picture of a car and the thumbnail view shows the full car from top to bottom including a little bit of the drive way it sitting on but when I open up the actual image, it seems like a small bit is cropped off the top and bottom so the very bottom of the car is cropped off. Anyone notice this and is there a way to view the picture with the full frame area as the thumbnail shows?

So what it is, is that the thumbnail is showing a 4:3 Aspect Ratio but I took the pic in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The 4:3 Aspect ration covers more area vertically and I want to know if I can get the full resolution of the 4:3 that's shown in the thumbnail even though my camera was set to 16:9.
