Time Out Configuration

I set my Galaxy S7 up for thumb print identification. While it worked fine for a while, yesterday it did not recognize my print and locked me out for half an hour. When I tried again it repeated things and locked me out for another half hour.

I was finally able to get back in and disabled thumb print identification.

I appreciate the security but keeping me from being able to use my phone for 30 minutes is rather harsh.

Is there anywhere to configure things so that I would be locked out for a shorter period of time? If not then there is no way can run the risk of being locked out for so long.

Thanks

george

I would say that if your thumbprint fails once or twice, you should unlock it with the pin (or password, depending how you set up security) and then retrain your thumbprints. Did you recently get a cut or scrape on your thumb?

You also may want to check to see if there are any updates pending for your phone. Fingerprint recognition is continually evolving and improving to fix some early glitches.

As far as the timeout, I don't think you can adjust that.

You can also register the same finger a few times, moving it in different directions so that the phone will recognize it better

A couple of times when things print failed it allowed me to use the pattern but this past time it did not for some reason. I guess there is no way to alter the lock out time, would that be correct?

Thanks
