time to move on from the Indulge?

So I've had the Indulge for something like 8 or 9 months. I bought it on Black Friday for $200 out the door, and I would say I've gotten my money's worth but lately (the past 2 months or so) it just feels like it's slowing down. Or maybe I am expecting more of it than I should. Either way. Programs like Firefox take a long time to launch (I am not running it off of the SD card, if anyone wanted to know.) and web browsing over wifi is just really slow and kind of a miserable experience now. And my wifi keeps dropping out even though I am only 10 feet from the router.

In the past I have resorted to having to Odin the thing a few times, and I've never had a bad flash. I tried Konan's little kernel and rom, and while they did work for the time, I find running stock 2.2.2 a better overall experience.

So now that all that is said, I am thinking I might just go get a LG Connect 4G since it's dual core and about 400 Mhz faster. I've read that there was some overheating issues but a fix was pushed out to resolve it. I know the Connect 4G vs Esteem is a constant pissing match. One says one is always better, blah. I just can't afford $400 on a phone that is over a year old. My budget tops out at about $250, and hopefully I'll be able to sell off my old Admire for some pocket change.

In any regard, does anyone have any suggestions? Is this the right course of action? I've read the connect is actually a VoLTE phone, and that feature really appeals to me. And I know Metro is slated to get a version of the Galaxy III, but I know it's gonna be pricey and I can't really afford that.

Thanks for your input in advance!

honestly, the connect is better than the esteem. people like the esteem cause of screen size and.hdmi out. i have both of the phones, and can tell you that the connect is definitely the bettrr buy. and i think its also cheaper than the esteem at the moment

I have be honest, if you want a good phone you have to get off Metro. I did in April. I got the HTC One S from TMobile. It is fast, has a killer camera. It comes with Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC already stated they are releasing Jelly Bean for it... but not the One V on Metro.

You can get the One S for 50-200 bucks right now depending where you buy, I get 4G everywhere (on road trips, etc.) and my bill only went up $5/month.

Look into it, Metro will just leave you frustrated in the smartphone arena.

I bought the connect 4g. Honestly I am very impressed with it, and signal is MUCH better than the old Indulge. I guess that's the difference between a gen 1 4G phone and a gen 2.
