Time to Tether!?

OK got this little cheapo rocking glitches and all on the $33 with taxes 5Gig 100min plan....happy as can be, wait...tethering; what is currently the best way to tether on this phone rooted? And will Tmobile notice one tethering without a tethering plan as AT&T and the like do and if so are there any working methods around this detection.

SWIM uses their phone to tether to laptop. SWIM never really had an issue with Tmo however says it was not too fast. SWIM used through:
Settings> Wireless and Network > Tethering and Portable Hotspot

See info at the following link. Works great for me. When tethering to my laptop, I notice no speed difference compared to using high speed cable modem. I'm not doing online gaming, but it's fine for everyday stuff, including streaming movies. Be careful that you don't blow right through your 4g data limit, however.

Thank you for the link, my phone value has increase 10X now...All they have is beta11, but worked on the first try. Getting 3.8Mbps down at work so i'll have to test in 4G areas, but now i can hit all those filtered sites during lunch without the bossman looking over my shoulder...let's hope Tmobile doesn't pull a AT&T and start monitoring the tethering traffic and i'll stick with this plan as long as they offer it and maybe even pay for a normal plan if they turn a blind eye and not require another $20/month for tethering. Watch out 5Gig limit here i come!

Tmobile offers a tether option and the default software accesses this, not sure how it works with these cheap plans but i'm sure it'll give you instructions on how to add this feature to your account if you try to use it. I've used the rooted option as linked above a few times and haven't gotten any at&t type text messages as i did with my iphone so far. Works pretty good, had two ipads tethered to this driving down the highway. This phone is very low quality so go down the path of rooting with the warning that if you are technical you'll likely break it. I'm likely going to sell mine soon and get a galaxy or htc as i'm pretty much done with the slow system turn-on(when you need it), music streaming disconnections, and non-stop vibration until reset. Only saving grace has being the tethering but the other phones can do that.

my tmobile phone did not allow me to tether without charging.

Foxfi is a free alternative that allows you to turn your phone into a hotspot if this is the case
