Time to upgrade the EVO V 4g

Newbie
Starting to look at phones and comparing them to what I currently have in the EVO V 4g.

I was thinking the supreme, GS3, or the Volt.

I like the Supreme for the camera, the Volt for the quad core processor and the GS3 for the 2gb ram.

Just looking for a phone I could keep for a couple years without getting so damn slow on me. When I open a game like clash of clans my phone is telling me I am using 90% of memory and then it starts to heat up like a furnace.

Would love to hear any and all opinions/experiences!

The GS3, why?Because of 16gb of internal storage plus 2gb of ram. Also we know the GS3 is one of samsungs best selling phones and theres countless of reviews on it, while we have no real review of the Volt.

Either you can wait till more info of the volt leaks or do what Im doing, going with the trusty ol GS3. Im coming from an iphone 4 btw.

Well that is what I am leaning towards. I want a phone that won't get sluggish on me in a year. I would like to keep this phone for the next two years and the GS3, albeit older, seems to be my best option.

The Volt with its quad core processor won't get slow, but it only has 8GB of internal storage which isn't enough for some people. It does have an SD card slot though.

Galaxy S3 has 16 or 32 GB.

The volt looks good, the only thing might be the internal storage, any of these three is a huge upgrade from the Evo though, IMHO. screen size might also be a factor, the Supreme is huge which either you might like or find it "too big". It's really large compared to the Evo.

I had been looking at youtube video reviews and that screen is just gigantic. You are right it may be too large.

I have the HTC Desire and am really liking it, fast and smooth, seems to be well laid out. The only problem again may be the internal storage but it has the sd card slot so I have been able to move the bulk of apps to the sd card and it hasn't been a problem. the screen is very nice and it is a moderate size.

I would definitely suggest getting the GS3. But I have used the Supreme, and it is a great phone also, but the internal memory is so small. With the GS3, there is continued development. It first came out with Android 4.1.2 installed, then it was upgraded to 4.3. Sprint just started rolling out 4.4.2 to their GS3's and more than likely 4.4.2 will be coming to the Virgin Mobile GS3. If you're into rooting/flashing/customizations, there is a great forum thread that contains everything you'll need: (Virgin Mobile) Galaxy S3 - All Things Root - Android Forums

In my opinion, with the LG Volt or Supreme, there might not be any continued development or upgrades for the phones. And the price for the GS3 has gone down significantly since Virgin first got it. I've had it since the first day it came out and absolutely enjoy using it.

If you can spare the extra dough, the galaxy s5 comes to virgin on the 19th. I'll be getting it in July replacing my galaxy victory.
