Timely Alarm App - Alarm sounding 30 minutes early

Starting about two weeks ago, Timely now goes off 30 minutes before the time I actually set it for. There has been no Timely update or system update in that time period. And I Have no other active time/alarm apps.

- I've uninstalled. Still happens.
- I've cleared data. Still happens.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Timely version 1.2.7 (current)
Phone: Nexus 5
Stock Android: 4.4.4 (current)

:confused:That makes no sense. My first thought would be some confusion with time zones, but I wrote that off because it was 30 minutes off instead of an hour. Then I was lliking at release notes and I noticed:
#1.2.1
- Fixed daylight saving time problem in certain time zones.
That was back a few versions ago, but has me wondering if there is more to that line of thinking. Have you dropped the developer a line.

A)Looks like they were bought by google
B) from their site:
We started with the ambition that you wake in a good mood. In Timely, we introduce an innovative alarm mode called Smart Rise which is based on advanced sleep-cycle theory. 30 minutes before the regular alarm, a slowly fading melody will gently wake you up from your deep sleep.

I don't know timezone and various DST methods from around the world.:o I actually struck all that out when I stumbled onto their homepage and found the quoted text.

Sorry I forgot the link earlier.:(

Timely Alarm Clock

Is smart rise turned on? Its starts going off 30 minutes early and plays at a very low volume and gradually rises til your scheduled alarm goes off.

On a side note, I uninstalled timely because it has a nasty habit of not letting my devices sleep......

How the heck did Smart Rise get toggled on? And more important...what is the point of Smart Rise?

Yep, good question. All alarms, whether a smartphone app or regular alarm clock, have had a thing called 'snooze' for as long as I remember. I see no difference between "smart rise" and "snooze".

I always thought that "snooze" was when you turn off the alarm because you
want to sleep a bit more and then it goes off again a bit later?

Smart rise and snooze are 2 different things lol.......

I use smart rise on my regular alarm clock, and I find that awake more fresh and ready to jump right out of bed.

Smart Rise reminds me of when I was a kid and my father would tell me to set the clock ten minutes ahead and "you'll never be late for anything"

OR!......I'll look at the clock and think "I've got time. That thing's ten minutes fast"

To me it's the same! "If" I had "smart rise" I'd hear it and then turn it off as I would know I had ages until I needed to be up.

As long as you don't miss the bus I get's it's all good, lol. But actually they aren't the same really are they? The "smart rise" goes off BEFORE you actually want to get up, and snooze is AFTER your alarm sounds at the "official" hour and you want to sleep more??

All answers based on how "I" use an alarm (any alarm over the last 40 years+):

As long as you don't miss the bus I get's it's all good, lol. ....

Use public transport? I'd rather use an alarm with "smart rise" .... :D

... But actually they aren't the same really are they? ...

Apparently not - but only if you go by the alarm creators definition ....

.... The "smart rise" goes off BEFORE you actually want to get up, ...

Meaning I would turn it off as soon as I heard it ....

....and snooze is AFTER your alarm sounds at the "official" hour and you want to sleep more??

... and rely on the "snooze" feature to ensure I got up.

Let's be clear, (geez, that's a true politicians saying .... :( ) to me 'snooze' is a way to let the alarm repeat to ensure I don't fall back to sleep. As that's what i do if I don't have that feature turned on. Always have done. "Smart" rise is something that the wife hopes happens before we have to get out of bed ..... :D
