Tiny terminal blues

I am trying to use Terminal Emulator and sorely miss the 'up-arrow' and 'back-arrow' to repeat the previous mistyped commands. How do I do this??

And 'tab' auto-completion?

Even with UniversalAndroot, typing (from 'download') cp FroydVillain1.7.0-signed.zip /sdcard/ failed. Do I need to do a sudo or something?

This is getting a tad frustrating...
