[Did i post this in the right thread?]

Hello, i just recently bought a used HTC magic, and after messing with it for about 2 days i finally found all the apps and widgets i wanted to use... and setup the homescreen the way i wanted it.

However when i first took it out for the day, my phone died EXTREAMLY fast. About 8-9 hours. but i've been trying to improve this by cutting back on widgets and applications. But, i WANT to use many of these apps and notifications otherwise there is no point of having the phone...

One of the things that i know is definitly killing my battery is eBuddy...
wondering if anyone has a solution or alternative (don't say stop running eBuddy)

Also i'd like to run the is the default HTC clock widget with weather.
i read something about clock widgets killing your battery and i know that widgets/apps updating obviously consumes resources/battery, but are there any settings i can change? or does this not even use much battery?

The music widget is a huge necessity for me as i've been using my Magic to listen to music untill i get a better device.
Im assuming the music widget wouldn't consume much battery as it wouldn't be updating unless music is playing and even then, its not much of a widget, just a play and next button.

Last but not least for widgets i'd run the Default HTC Calendar widgets... all 3 of them, the calendar, the agenda, and the next task.
I like the calendar widgets, they help me quickly see whats coming up today, next week, or even throughout the month. Im hoping that these won't be a problem for battery consumption because its something i'd really like to use.

Today I've been running my phone with all of the above shut off and only lost about 3% battery in 3 hours which is WAY better than 100% in 8-9.

I use the phone very lightly, maybe looking at it about once ever hour, and spending about 1-2 hours a day TOTAL actually using it for, texting, email, browsing, and youtube videos.

I am able to charge every night, so i dont need like 2 weeks or anything out of it..

Im just hoping to be able get my phone to last 14-16 hours and still be able to use it how i want to, without worrying to much about battery consumption.

here is a timetable based on how i want to use my magic

7:30 - Wake up, unplug (EBUDDY ON) probably wont use eBuddy most mornings

8:30 - Class time, (EBUDDY OFF)

---DURING SCHOOL, use phone for some texting and emailing---

2:30 - School ends (EBUDDY ON) probably wont turn ebuddy on right after school, but sometime

---AFTER SCHOOL about 2/3 hours of use. (sms, email, browsing, youtube, chat/im)

11:30 - Sleeping, plug in to charge.

PS: I usually get home at about 9:30 so i can easily plug my devince in earlier than 11:30
but 16 hours or more is what i am going for.

Hope you all can help, give me some tips and tell me how you guys last throughout the day with your devices.

[EDIT:]
I already run my phone at about 11-15% screen brightness and screen timeout is set to lowest 15 seconds.
