Wanted to share this tip I just came across. If you are tired of your S3 asking if you want to connect to WiFi, open your phone dialer and enter *#6335623#
A menu will open with options to turn that feature off.

Works on VZW. Don't know about other carriers.

I see your on VZW................this does not seem to work on my AT&T S3. Oh well.........."these types of issues will settle down in a couple of months". New phones will be out. Just hurts this site in my opinion at least.

I don't see the problem, his tip might work on several different phones, if it was in a VZW forum the rest of us who have no reason to visit that forum would miss out.

Completely agree. Just because it doesn't work on AT&T, doesn't mean it won't work for every other phone.

I'm getting a bit sick of this mentality where everyone thinks if it doesn't work for them, it must only work on the phone version the OP had.

I must be in the minority here.... I personally like the reminder.

Why?

I would always prefer to use WIFI, when available/secure.

1) Better throughput
2) Better battery life
3) Lower data usage (although a moot point in my case since I have unlimited)

I like it too. Serves a s a notification that something has gone wrong and my WiFi is on when it should be off.

I posted the tip to show people that they have the option. Like every other tip on here, you don't have to use it if you don't want to. I don't have any interest in half of the posts on here, but I like knowing that I have the option. It is unfortunate that it doesn't work for all carriers, but you never know until you try.

Doesn't work on the unlocked/unbranded international version though.

@Op maybe tag your post title with [Vzw+?] or something similar? Then verizon users know it 'should' work for them and other users know it 'might' and people can feedback from there. Just a suggestion.
