Titanium Backup Protect Backup Option.

I usually only keep 1 or 2 backups. I used to also use the option to protect a backup which would keep it from being included in the Backup total and possibly get deleted.

It has not worked in quite some time.

It always says

Sorry, the operation failed.

It is a toast so I can't capture it in the screen shot.

I too was having operation failed using TB and did some investigating to see what was the problem as that a handy feature I did not even know was available. I prefer to have one backup myself but this is a nice way to keep some apps with more than 1 backup. I have all my backups on my external card as well as a dropbox backup and one to my computer hard drive for safety.

You need to go to in TB Preferences/Backup folder location and add following path.
To make it work the path backup path to the external card has to be
"mnt/media_rw/extSdCard/" to work.

I could not get TB to access the media_rw folder without giving folder RW permissions first using Root Explorer then I could use path given to TB folder
I can now use protect this backup fine. :)

After rebooting phone the path is lost due to losing RW permissions and had to re setup working backup directory. I read this post here about problem with the media_rw folder to keep it RW. I will post it here if anyone want to edit and post hacked file be appreciated. I might attempt it later if I get bored.

heres link to post I believe will make it work permanently ..........

unable to write files to external sd card - Post #23 - XDA Forum

Alright I had no luck getting the media_rw folder to keep its RW permissions even after editing the platform.xml and adding a script file to add permissions when I boot my phone.
Anyone can tell me how to make the folder writable so can get my TB working with protect this backup feature.

1 link that I used in my research and 1 link of the app that checks to see if SD card is writable which in my case it is. Really annoyed that I not gotten this working yet as it a feature I wanted to use.
I even emailed Titanium Track for help but as of yet no answer from them emailed about a week ago.
