To Measure 3G or 2G signal

Any sofware ( supports Android 2.1 )similiar to Nice track , field test measure signal ( 3g and 2g) . please advice

I'm not sure it works on every android phone but if you open up the dialer and type *#*#4636#*#* you get at some extra debugging info and you can view your signal strength in the phone information section as both DB and asu.

Edit: it also displays the type of network your connected to e.g. hsdpa or GSM. And neighbouring cells aswell.
