Toilet finders

Perhaps I am too anally retentive? Anyway have been investigating toilet finder software. Have looked at two so far. Both are almost working in the UK.

seems to place the toilet far from its actual location in Google maps; it seems to place it in the middle of the town area. This can be very misleading for a town spread over a large area but lightly built up e.g. the toilet in Waltham Abbey, Essex is a few metres south of the High Street but Google maps place it some kilometre outside town on a road that is difficult to stop on or to turn round on. Adding to ones distress at such a distressful time! The one for Sainsbury's in Chadwell Heath is shown as being located in some back streets rather than the High Road; my mother-in-law lives next to the supposed toilet site, perhaps she should open her door and start charging? The app would be improved if there was a way to add map referencing when reporting a toilet; town/city only is too crude.

The lack of a link to a map means that the description needs to be very clear. One I looked at seemed confusing to me.

This site comes up as a completely blank page for me in both Opera and Chrome.

Things might be different in the UK (I don't know if that's where you are, or if that's just where the example app covers), but in the US most larger stores and shopping malls have public restrooms. I just installed an app called Point Inside, which store and restroom locations (among other things) in shopping malls - showing you the location of the mall in Google Maps, and the location of the store/restroom/whatever on a map of the mall.

When we're on a road trip and the kids need to go, I usually look for a fast food place, where restrooms are readily accessible and you can get in and get out without having to make a purchase (if you're so inclined).

Yes I am in the UK and we have the same. However we have many small towns/villages without large stores or shopping malls. Pubs are useful but not always open early in the day.

I cycle/walk a lot in areas where toilets are few and far between; not so bad for men but ladies like some comfort/privacy. If cycling/walking distance can be vital; a kilometre walk to no avail or a cycle ride along a busy road is no fun.

Yup, could be useful.
I went running yesterday and I had to go really urgent.
Alas I couldn't find anything, so I had to go in the woods.
First time not on a toilet ever.

I have heard from the authors of these two finders.

ToiletFinder say they will add map referencing to the long todo list.

Find A Toilet cannot because it is a one women band who is just trying to give help. Fair enough. She does say that given a good enough description most people will find the loo.
