Top screen icon question

so, basically my girlfriend has a note 4 and has been getting this notification icon at the top of her screen. She says it's a text because she uses message+, but I've never seen it before. Wouldn't the back button have a number stating the number of unread texts since it's up top??

Any idea what app this belongs to?

It looks like a messaging app of some sort. Open the app drawer and see if there are any messaging apps she can uninstall or disable
