I did a search and couldn't seem to find too much but I bought one of the eBay OBD II Bluetooth dongles (orange/white label) & I'm running Torque on a Droid 1. I planned to buy the full version of Torque but there are some issues that I'm not sure if it's the dongle I got, if the full version of the app will fix or if even the full version will still yield the same results. If so, I don't want to pay $5 for the same issues I'm getting for free. The notes say the free version has some bugs and is more limited in what it displays/logs & while I've experienced some of these I still don't think all of my issues would be left in the trial version because they affect usability.
For starters, I have no boost reading. This is in a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T and the boost is controlled by the ECU so it should be getting a reading. It's not for some reason. The throttle position isn't accurate. Tried it in my A4 as well as my Camry Hybrid and in both instanced it shows about 15% throttle at idle. Unless I'm missing something this should be 0% since it's TPS and not throttle body intake plate position. It seems to be very confused by what's MPH/KM and what's F/C because the settings in the menu seem to be opposite of what it reads... took me a while to figure that one out since they were checked and it was still displaying metric units. Even with the gauges properly displaying MPH the 'all sensors' display or whatever it's called still doesn't display in MPH. I need a knock sensor display to show me degrees of kvr when it's present. I don't see any options labeled knock/kvr so is it one of the other various listings that appear to have several of the same name, is it available in the full version or is it not available at all?
I'm not 100% convinced I don't have a bad dongle but am hoping this isn't the case since it shipped from over seas so I want to exhaust all possible avenues before I head down that road. I was reading in a Google search that there's some sort of setting that shows the status of the dongle an it should read '0' after being connected for a bit if the communication between the app and the dongle is solid and anything 1, 2 or higher is a bad sign. I was looking for this to be able to rule the dongle out or prove it was the issue but I see that option nowhere in the settings menu so I'm not sure what they were talking about.
Thanks for the help.
