Lurker
i want to support you guys but i have a question to ask before i buy Torque pro but i'm not sure if is the right place to this question . Can the Torque pro application reset ABS/TCS or SRS... ?

nitecrawl, welcome to the site (some more). As far as I know, this is the right section to ask your question.

I had the Torque app installed for a while on my last phone but I never got around to using it. That said I don't have an answer, but figured I'd at least give a reply so you didn't think you were being ignored.

I'll wait till tomorrow and if there are no helpful answers, I'll ask around for you to see if anyone else has a better more knowledgable answer for you.

good luck

No, Torque is only an OBDII scanner/reader. It can communicate with the engine control module of '96-newer OBDII vehicles, but it cannot communicate with any of the other modules in the vehicle such as ABS, SRS, BCM etc. Unfortunately the equipment to do that is either proprietary to each manufacturer, or if available to the aftermarket it's very expensive and usually purchased only by repair shops.

If your car is domestic, Scan XL can read an clear ABS and Airbag codes. Scan XL is software for Windows PC. It costs around $200, but it is much less expensive than dealer's scan tools.

Phandroid didn't develop and doesn't sell Torque, so how would you be providing "support" by asking Phandroid members about an app written by a third-party developer?

Hp tuners will do abs and transmissions systems too. as well as actual tuning of the car.

Not sure about airbag. Incidentally you need a system that will read through the BCM (body control module) of the car. for car's newer than 05, the systems use a CAN buss and actually talk to most of the car. Older OBDII systems are engine only.

Not sure about Torque pro as I don't use it. but it would be possible on post 2005 cars.

Personally I like a fully wired interface with dealing with the car modules - as interuptions in the communication can disable the devices or cause other issues. So I don't use BT or WIFI adapters. I would like to have HP Tuners on a tablet rather than a laptop, but I'd still want the cord to the car.
