Total Monthly Cost?!?!

Why is it so hard to determine the total monthly cost of plans? I'm so tired of the carriers trying to mask their true costs by only discussing the initial cost of their device when over 2 years, it is the monthly plan that should be the deciding factor. I live in Atlanta so coverage is not an issue. If I want a top of the line Android phone, which carrier has the lowest unlimited data/call plan???

but for the EVO, it's another $10 for 4G and I think $30 to use tethering? so now I'm up to $100 a month plus taxes/fees or ~$1,400 per year. This is what I'm talking about. Who cares if your phone is free vs. $200 when you're going to be spending ~$1,400 a year. Of course, the carriers don't want you to look at those costs. :eek:

Does tmobile have the EVO?
 
The N1, until the Galaxy S phones drop.
Then still the N1 most likely.

But anyways, Sprint's unlimited plans start around $70. $10 extra for 4G only applies if you're in a 4G area AND you buy the plan. $30 for mobile hotspot... no reason to when a rooted phone can do that free. Then there's insurance if you choose to buy it. Then taxes and misc fees.

My Verizon plan would be over $100 but I get a pretty good discount from my job which brings it down to just under $85 when it's all said and done.
 
i currently use an N1 with a famlily no contract plan, we get 750 shared minutes, unlimited text. and thats about i think 60-70 bucks amonth (that we split down the middle) then its 5 or 6 bucks for my insurence, and another 20 bucks for unlimited data. i have used my phone as an internet device for my computer more then once and i dont get charged anymore for that service. but as icing on the cake i get a 13% discount on my bill for arguing with the guy trying to sell me my orginal plan 2 yrs back.
 
Stopped at the Sprint Store during lunch and they didn't have any EVO's in stock. She told me at least a 1 week wait. :rolleyes:
 
I have two lines, unlimited everything on both, my bill is $133.xx per month. (Includes PAM on my line)

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

Dunno. Is adding voice plan + data plan + optional services that hard? :confused:

I haven't shopped in a while but I don't recall having any difficulty finding this info on any of the major carriers' web sites.

How about clicking on "Plans" (and Services) rather than "Phones"? I just looked at TMO, at&t, Sprint and Verizon's sites and every one of them allows you to go straight to plans should you choose to.

Am I missing something? Are you looking for spoon-fed monthly cost with the device added in? Adding device cost divided by 24 (or 12 or whatever) isn't that difficult IMO. If it's something you really want then let the carriers know. Don't assume that they follow these forums.
