I want to update my mobile phone ( htc desire ) and as far as I know I'll lose all my personal dictionary touch input after updating . Could you please let me know if there is a way to keep and backup the words that I entered earlier . I have many words entered and don't want to lose them .

Hello and welcome aboard.

You can sync your personal dictionary (which includes all words that you have saved) to your SD card. You can find this in menu - settings - language & keyboard - touch imput - personal dictionary. Follow steps to sync your dictionary.
