Help Touch Screen (Digitizer) to Display Screen Mapping Problems

Hello
I just replaced the touch screen of my generic 9inch Android Tablet running on Jelly Bean. I couldn’t get the genuine one so I just bought a compatible one: The screen works BUT it doesn’t properly map the co-ordinates on the Display. Bottom and the sides are OK but the top (about 1 inch in landscape mode) has no response. The screen is all working : The bottom matches fine but as you swipe upwards you can see that your finger touches a higher point which matches a slightly lower point on the display. When your finger reaches the top …the matching map becomes about 1inch bellow on the display.
I need help to fix this issue: I think there would be a file inside my android where there would be values to match the Display Screen mapping with the Touch Screen (digitizer)
Thank you in advance……

Hi there, Ive experienced a problem like that before, and the way I fixed it was by sighting in the digitizer. there should be a option on your device, that allows you to re adjust the touch, if the digitizer gets off a little bit, i don't know where it would be located on your device, but on mine is it was in settings

Also you may want to connect a blue tooth mouse, because it will be really hard finding that re adjust setting, with the calibration messed up

Thanx for your reply.....
I don't have Bluetooth on my tablet.... for a while I was using a mouse by connecting through OTG. Also I don't have any settings for the digitizer as well.
As I know Android OS there would be a file which interprets/maps the touch activities to the screen memory. If I can know where the file is kept inside ..I should be able to try something. My tablet is rooted so I can r/w the files inside.
I read in another forum about a file called 'pointercal' kept in /data/system/tslib/ which was used in Ginger Bread for such activities. I believe this file gets created by something called "tslib"... I don't know how tslib gets installed inside Android.
Mine Android tablet is Jelly Bean .
If anyone has any idea about tslib ..this would be of some help.

well if you can find that touch setting option (i dont know where it is) but you can find it you can fix it real easily, the tablet will tell you to tap the x on the screen, and will keep asking you to do so until its sighted in to your touch, ill check my tablet and see if i can remember what setting it was under , then ill notify you ok

If it is possible in your Android than I guess there would be an app available to do that for others who don't have this settings. Do you think so???

Well I will wait till you let me know about your setting path.

Thanx for info RookitMaster ....really appreciate that.

Have u tried changing the dpi in the buildprop? Who knows maybe you'll get lucky and it'll fix the issue for you.

Apart from trying to edit this "tslib" or whatever, modern Android devices don't usually provide any way of calibrating the touch-screen, unlike the older and cheapo resistive screened stylus operated devices. Of course if you're fiddling and modifying the system files, make sure you have some way of going back, otherwise it could end-up unbootable and bricked.

Basically an Android build is made to use a certain touch-screen digitizer module during design and production, and calibration for that is assumed to be accurate. And if another part type is used during production, I would guess the device's Android build is modified to suit it by the manufacturer.

BTW ...what is buildprop???? Can you please give me more information on this, maybe something works. To my knowledge build.prop is a file in /systems...

Note: I just have about 1inch of the top of the screen which the digitizer can't response, the far bottom works Ok. If I change the resolution than the entire screen is affected.

RookitMaster, I have found this app on Google Play, maybe it is about fixing the touch screen/digitizer (size). But I don't know to use and save the responses. Check it out and let me know : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=remington.productions.fixmyscreen&hl=en

Thats why i said maybe you'd get lucky & it be a glitch to which changing the dpi would recalibrate the entire screen in theory correcting said glitch..it was my only suggestion besides Opening the phone u[emoji52]
