Help Touch screen intermittenly responds after water damage

My x10 mini got soaked in tea a few weeks ago. I dried it in a bowl of rice, it charges, turns on and all the buttons respond well. However the touch screen only responds every so often, it's about 50/50. For instance if I tap in a phone number it'll take half the numbers immediately and ignore the other half.

I have updated the software and that didn't help. Could anyone tell me which part of the hardware could be the most likely cause of the issue?

hey for better accuracy you should get it checked out in the customer service. but i guess the touch screen part's pretty broken
