Help Touch Screen Issue fixed?

Terrakb

Newbie
Hi All

I purchased by first LG G2 F320 (Korean Version) in Nov last year and i have to say it was the best phone i have ever owned. I was upgrading from the HTC butterfly which i dropped and cracked the screen. Instead of paying $200 for a screen fix so i looked for a new phone and the only phone that had everything i wanted was the G2 f320. After a month of using the phone i started to have a problem with the touch screen whereby a section of the screen would not register any touch input (if you want to see what the problem looks like go to you tube and search 'LG G2 (D802) touch screen problem')

I contacted the seller and sent back the phone for repairs. Two weeks later i get the phone back and it wasn't fixed (I think they just replaced the screen)! I contacted the seller again who asked me to send the phone back (fortunately they paid the postage the first time). So i did. A month later, it comes back and it seems to work, It was Jan of this year and i get the Notification to update to Kit Kat, which i do, but when i start using the newly updated phone the problem comes back! I contact the seller who said it was fixed when the sent it back and i argued that its an official update, but i cannot use this phone as it is so i send it back again. One more month and the problem still wasn't fixed!!!

I had enough and demanded a refund which fortunately i got . Now i have my money back i waited to see what the S5 and Z2 had to offer before deciding what phone i would get, but those phones didn't impress me so i decided to get another G2 because there is still nothing else that offers me the features it does.

My problem (and sorry for the long story) is now i have purchased a new one I am just wondering if anyone or anyone you know is still experiencing this issue,

And if you have experienced the issue where you able to get the problem fixed.

I'm pretty confident that i will be getting a problem free phone as its from a newer batch too so that's another thing that's in my favor but after the hell i went through with the last phone I am still worried i might stumble upon this own issue with my second LG G2 F320 which i will shortly be getting.

Thank you for your time

Unfortunately we still don't build phones using nanotechnology, one atom at a time, so defective phones make it through the production line.

My first Note 3 decided to commit suicide because of the first OTA it received, so it was replaced out of stock (a new phone). That one decided to have some of its storage die, so it was replaced by a refurb. That one's working so far, but seemed to "forget" a few changes I made (custom ringtones per contact, etc.) so that's been noted in the record.

I got a perfect phone once, and it's still running - A Motorola V551. One of the first Motorolas with a camera. In cellphone generations, it has both feet way under the grave - but at least I have a working phone in my pocket when there's no working N3.

But in general, if I get a phone today with problems minor enough to live with I accept reality. Perfection comes after they nail the coffin shut. Maybe.

I have to admit i have been lucky so far. I've bought about 5-6 phones off Ebay and this is the first to have problems within the warranty period. I was happy to send the phone off for repairs, i was not however happy with an almost 3 month wait, and they still didn't fix the phone! At one stage the seller said that they will fix it or, instead of a refund they would offer to sell the faulty phone as a factory second and give me the money when it sells!?! I mean has anyone heard of that option before?

I was tempted to look to another phone instead of the G2 but there is still no phones out there that had the features i was looking for.

One thing that gives me a bit more confidence is that i couldn't find any posts regarding the same screen issue so I am hoping sheer bad luck with my first phone was the only reason i got a faulty G2.

Why are you purchasing the device on eBAY? Aren't you with a carrier that subsidizes the device? The problem with purchasing on eBAY, I don't think the OEM (regardless of whom) would honor a warranty.

The fact that you keep getting a bad device means, you need to stay away from that seller.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why upgrading to KK would make the device faulty.

Hi

I am from Australia and the only version here is the LG G2 D802 which doesnt come with micro sd card and exchangable batteries. I have to have a phone with atleast a micro sd slot so i can put the media like movies and take videos and photos and put them on the card. The internal memory i leave for apps and games.

Secondly i dont like getting plans because you get locked into a cr@ppy plan for too long it ends up costing you more. My last plan had only 200mbs of data because i though 2 years before it would be enough. Well this day in age 200mbs is nothing and i ended up paying more because going over the data limit.

As with warranty, i talked to ebay and they said whilst the cant enforce warranty they can report sellers who do not uphold what was said on ebay item descriptions. If they said theres a warranty and they would fix phones within warranty period that counts as part of the phones description. If they fail then it counts as 'product not described' so i could legally get my money back. In fact ebay advised me to contact my bank to try to get my money back which i did and my bank was happy to do. The seller i think was forced at that stage to refund my money. I looked around and found a Korean seller who sold the LG G2 F320 so i dont have to deal with the old seller.

I agree, upgrading to an official KK update should not have made the phone faulty again, i tried to explain this to the seller but they insisted they fixed it. What was i to do? I had to send it back a third time, and when they couldnt fix it a third time and a month later i had enough with that seller.... To bad i couldnt change my rating of that seller.

The LG G2 F320 has everything i need in a smart phone so i just had to get it. I got my second LG G2 F320 a couple of days ago so im happy, and fingers cross i dont get the same problem again.:D
