Touch screen not responding to touches

About 5 mins ago my phone was working, now the screen is not responding to any touches, can't unlock it or turn it off ar anything.. How does this get fixed?
 
What kind of phone is it? Can you remove the back cover and pull the battery out?

If so, try that, put the battery back in and turn the phone back on. See if that fixes it. If it doesn't, post back here and we'll see if we can get you figured out.
