Help touch screen not responding

My T-mobileMytouch 3g slide touch screen is not working so now I can't unlock the lock screen.

Did you try taking the battery out and putting it back in?

Has this happened before? Is the phone cracked or shattered?

I have the same problem. everything I read says to use the phone dial pad...and how do you do that if the screen doesn't respond..? hope you get ur answer...ill check in frequently
