Android Question

My phone worked fine an hour ago, but now touching the screen does absolutely nothing. I can't even turn the phone off. Is it possible I accidentally disabled the touch screen?

Thanks,
Jerry

Welcome to Android Forums!

I don't think there is an option to disable the touch screen. A couple things I would try: Put the phone to sleep by tapping the power button and then bring it back up. If that doesn't do anything, try pulling the battery and waiting about 30 seconds before replacing it. If it still doesn't work, you could try a factory reset as a last resort. If none of that helps, it is likely the hardware has gone bad.

I hope this helps! If not, there are two avenues: You can re-submit your question with additional info the same way you submitted this one, or you can join the forums for a better back and forth exchange of info.

Thanks Rawling,
I went ahead and registered right after posting. Don't laugh, but I'm not even sure where the power button is. On the left side is the volume and I hold in the button on the right to shut the phone off. Tapping it three time just turns the screen on and off. I will pull the battery out after work and see if that fixes it.
