Touch Screen Problem

Hello, community.

I have been experiencing this problem with my Samsung Note 5 for several months now. As you can see from the grid mode screenshot attachment, it looks like the left side of my phone is somehow compromised. I never dropped nor misused my phone and of I were to point out a cause, I'd say this issue began after a T-Mobile update.

I tried to master reset and even to re-install the firmware via Odin3.

Accessing the *#2663# menu, I noticed that updating the touch screen drivers momentarily alleviates the problem, altough I have to perform this procedure multiple times through the day and it doesn't fix the problem completely.

Can this be a software issue or it's hardware only related?
My only option at this point is to replace the digitizer?

Because if I have to I guess I will have to save money and buy me a Samsung Edge 8+ somewhere in the future instead..

P.S.: for the touch screen grid, I started at the bottom right corner and drew like a snake til the upper left corner. The extreme left grid squares are messed up, localizing the issue.
