Touch Screen problem

Hi, I recently bought my galaxy s and I'm having problems with the touch screen,The problem is when I'm playing games mainly coc..sometimes when I touch to drop a troop nothing happens I have to tap and tap a few times before it registers..never had this problem on older galaxy tab, wondering if anyone else is having same issues.
