i want to turn off the touch sounds when typing messages

Hi and welcome to Android Forums. 
I'm not sure device you have but there should be an option in your Sounds settings within the device's settings app that will allow you to turn off touch sounds.
If you are using a third party messaging app, there may be an option within the settings of that too.
