Tough Lesson Learned (Moto X Slipped from My Hand)

My phone Moto X (2013) is less than one month old and I accidentally dropped it at the train station on a concrete sidewalk. Landed on the top right corner and now there is a significant scratch/dent in the body. Everything else is fine.

I opted to not get a case given the form factor and Motomaker customization I made. However, in hindsight I think getting a case with at least a bumper would have prevented the damage.

I prefer my Moto X to be 'naked' as its feels great. But now every time I look at the phone the damage drives me nuts---ugh! Looks like a case will cover it and I can go on.

Just a word of caution for folks thinking to pass on a case.

Sorry to hear it, though, honestly, so long as the phone is working fine and the glass is good, I'm fine with scratches and dents on the body, etc.

However, if you really want to feel "naked" but have some protection for the body of the phone, there are a few that still showcase the back.

I also like my phone naked, and I've just as well dropped it twice. A dent or two adds character, and just reminds me that I'm using the device day to day. In a few weeks, they won't matter, and you'll continue to enjoy this awesome device.

I'll also be carrying the 2014 Moto X naked, too. It's all good. :)

I ended up buying the Greatshield Guardian S (black). Turned out to be an excellent choice. It covers up the dent and at least in my opinion makes the body of the phone look even more sleeker. So next best thing to naked for me.

I feel the same way. I love to be naked ;) but I can't stand having damage on my phone. I see my friends with their damaged phones and it drives me crazy.
 
I went through nearly a dozen cases on my Moto X as I was anal about finding one that kept the same general look, feel, and form factor while offering at least a minimal amount of protection. I finally ended up with this.

The have a clear one as well, though it's high gloss instead of matte. This case works wonderfully on a black Moto X, but I could see the lack of appeal for highly customized Moto Xs.

I didn't get to try the greatshield Guardian, but it was literally the next case on my list. I also still have 3 or 4 of the cases left over in new/near new condition that I won't use because I like the Diztronic better. You're welcome to try any of them for the cost of postage. Off the top of my head they are:

Verizon High Gloss Silicone (TPU)
Supcase Unicorn Beetle Hybrid
Hyperian TPU
