Trace history of HTC One X

I was wondering does anyone know if you contacted HTC they would tell you when your phone had been purchased or more specifically if it had been repaired etc>?

I have just bought one second hand from a forum. The guy whole sold it to me is genuine enough - he traded a galaxy note for it from some other guy on the forum.

The other guy said he had sent it to HTC for repair, but they sent him a new one instead.

So I just want to verify this - if the phone was repaired or was he actually sent a replacement like he claims.

Would HTC be able to verify this - what would they need from the phone, the IMEI number>?
