Trace keyboard (stock)

Hi

I don't know if this is model-specific or just an Android thing but I'll try asking here: recently (maybe always? I'm not sure - the phone is new) trace keyboard doesn't work when googling via the search widget, and entering my instagram credentials. It's like it's disabled, though keyboard settings shows it's on, and it works for everything else (chrome browser URL entry etc). Anyone else? Any ideas?! Latest stock Android, Vodafone branded.

I can't comment on the M9 keyboard, but swiftkey does this on a lot of password/username entry fields as well so maybe it's some sort of security feature? It doesn't allow for word correction either.

Does it do it on anything else where you need to enter sensitive details?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah - it does it on the facebook app too - probably a security thing. Just seems odd that is on the search widget too.

I had the same problem. Wanted to give the stock keyboard a chance but just went back to Swype.

Also the space bar seems a bit slow for my liking..
