Traffic App?

I'm looking for a traffic app. Not a GPS route and traffic app like Waze. Just a traffic app. Something I can open up in the morning and it shows me the city I live in and all the major highways if they are moving or not.

Seems every app I look at wants to give me turn by turn directions along with the traffic which I don't need. I know how to get to my work location. I just want to open it up, quickly look at the highways, then get in my car and drive.

Right now I get on Chrome and use the city website for traffic but that takes me going to their website first.

Google Maps can do that.

Open it up and select 'traffic' from the drop down menu if it doesn't already show it. You don't need to actually use it for driving directions, just open and look

yeah, I was going to mention Google Maps also, I occasionally consult it just for that reason.

I do this all the time with Google Maps. Keep the traffic layer on and open it just before I leave to go anywhere, for a very accurate and up-to-date status report.
No need to use the nav function unless you want it, and when you do it can monitor the traffic and warn you of slowdowns and suggest alternate routes.
I find Waze kinda busy and annoying and rarely use it.

I'm also using Waze. I believe it is one of the best and popular traffic apps for androids. Google Maps is also amazing especially the new update. Anyway, there are still two others that most people recommend. Those are Intrix and Sigalert. I think, you just have to choose what you think will provide you the most reliable road info and real traffic guide.
