Help Transfer Contacts to Google

Unforgiven

...eschew obfuscation...

I transferred my wife to a new phone on a new plan. A ton of her contacts weren't sync'd to Google and therefore are not on her new phone. How do I get these changed to Google contacts so they sync to her new phone.

If still you have the old phone you can use WiFi and login to the Google account and sync'd after that when you login and sync on the new phone then it'll transfer. Or try one of the contact backup app from play store install on both phones by the same Google account and you can backup on the old phone and import to the new phone.
Good luck

It is still here and on WiFi. How do I get them to sync with Google. Some have the blue G icon next to them for Google and those sync'd fine. The majority don't have that symbol.

Well, I figured it out. I had to hit settings and choose "Share namecard via" and from the "Contacts" tab hit select all and then done. From there I chose GMail and entered my email address. I then logged into my wife's gmail account on the computer and imported the VCF file and merged the accounts where necessary. This was on my fourth or fiftieth attempt. It was a real PITA as the S3's export utility for contacts was showing a checkbox next to a contact name but they weren't in the ultimate export file. For me, there were 243 contacts and only 9 were showing up in the export option. The send via still created a VCF file, but had all the contacts.

My wife had the same issue. Some of her contacts were saved to the phone and not Google. Thanks for the info.
