Transfer files to PC

[Android Question]

I need transfer my text messages from my ZTE Merit Z990G to a PC. How do I go about doing this? I need to update the software and I don't want the messages deleted so before I can update, I need to transfer.

You can save messages (just texts, not MMS) to cd card with Android app :
