It's not really working for me, how do you do it?

On your device, be sure to mount the sd card. Do this by going to settings and scroll down to SD carrd & phone settings. Click on Mount. It will then say Unmount. Leave it and back out to the home screen. My computer is a bit temperamental in this area but patience always wins out. When you plug your usb cord into the phone and pc, you may find that there's a pop up not recognizing your device. Try moving it to another port. If you hear the prompt for a connection and no pop up then you're almost home. You should see a green android robot. Click on the box below to turn on usb storage and the green robot will turn amber or golden depending on your eyes(ha ha). If the green robot doesn't appear, it's ok. Turn your phone off, count to 10 and turn it on. If it still doesn't appear, unplug usb at the phone and plug it back in. It should appear. Now that's out of the way! You can do what you intended. In the My Computer section, your device will be designated by your pc with a letter. Your hard drive is usually c: and/or d: and so one for other drives and devices. Your phone will be the last of these and should read Removable disk. Click it and you will see folders. The DCIM folder is where pics and vids are. Open it and drag to your desktop or move them to where ever you'd like in your pc. That's it. Other pics and vids can be in other folders if you've downloaded them to your phone.

This sounds like a lot but if you've got a few minutes of patience rather than a few seconds of patience, you'll be satisfied with the results.

Generic instructions.

• plug in usb to both pc and phone
• on phone, pull down notifications and you should see entry for the connection (may say charge only or choose usb connection), tap it and you'll get a mount/ unmount popup, select mount.
• Wait a several seconds (patience!) and you should see a auto play selector popup on your pc screen. If you have a program like Picasa, Photoshop or Elements installed, one of the choices will be to import pics and videos. Depending on the windows version, you may have a windows import tool choice. If you don't have anything like that, you can choose view files and manually copy the files from your phone.
