Transferring address information to phone

I have names and addresses saved on my laptop in a program called Easy Mail Plus. I would like to transfer these to my phone. Can I do this simply and if so, how. Thanks

Can the thing on your PC write them to a vcard file (.vcf)? If so you can import that into the phone's Contacts, either directly or by uploading to your Gmail and syncing contacts.

Do you have anything else on your laptop that can read its export and then re-export as vcard? I don't use Outlook so don't know whether it can.

I have a .vcf file, and I transferred it to my wife's phone using Google's Android File Transfer app on my Mac. Several blog posts tell me that now all I have to do is go into the Contacts app and tap Menu > Settings, to get into Contacts Settings, and in there I should find menu item Import/Export.

But it ain't there on this LG Arista running Android 7.0. I only have Display, Sort search results by, Online Search, Transfer type, Accounts & Sync. I checked inside all of them, and none of them mention anything about importing or exporting, except Transfer type which asks if exports should be single or multiple .vcf files.

Where is the Contacts app's Import/Export in Android 7.0?

Which tab in the Contacts app? The settings available depend on which one you are in, and it's usually only the list of all contacts (as opposed to groups or favourites) where you have this.

That said, not one of those menu categories is one I recognise from any contacts app I've met (they do vary a little with manufacturer), so your version sounds very different.

Thank you, Hardon. With your tip that maybe I was probably not even close, I found it!

On this LG Arista running Android 7.0, on the home screen, there is a icon which appears to be a head shot of a person in a circle with the word "Contacts" under it. When I tap that guy, the word 'Phone appears under the status bar in the upper left of the screen, and the tabs Dial, Call logs, Contacts and Groups, with the Contacts tab being selected. So, right away something is weird – it looks like instead of taking me to the Contacts app, it takes me to the Contacts tab of the Phone app. The blog posts I'd been reading told me to click in the menu > Contacts Settings. There is such a menu item, but in this case it's a wrong turn. The correct answer is to click in the menu > Manage Contacts, and in there voila I find Import.

I suppose there are significant differences among phones, and among Android versions.
