kindle app i think is for .prc/.mobi only..i believe with aldiko you need to put it in sd/ebooks/import

sorry...incorrect regarding aldiko... you must convert to .epub. really reading books in .pdf is crap anyways. if you must read it in pdf, search "pdf reader" at market.

otherwise, highly recommend you convert with "Calibre" and copy to your phone...http://calibre-ebook.com/download

best free reader i found is "moon reader".. https://market.android.com/search?q=moon+reader&c=apps&price=1&so=1

also there's a Calibre app for android for converting, but not sure how it works or how good it is...

Get a free PDF reader from the market. Or depending on your phone, if it has Office already, just open it from SD card via file manager

Aldiko won't open some books I bought. Bought 3 from Booksamillion, only one would import. Aldiko will not open pdf files, either. The pdf files I use do not have DRM. Some are star charts, and others are geological info put out by either a state or the federal gov't to make a visit to a park more enjoyable.

I've been using FB reader and PDF reader on the Coby, Beam Reader and FB reader on the phone.

You have to register the device to read DRM protected publications. The Coby did register. A lot of the books I have are Creative Commons. Feedbooks has quite a few. They are epub, and open in everything but Aldiko.

I complained to Aldiko, and they requested the files. I sent the files 2 weeks ago and have not heard back.

With the new update on the Kindle app now I can read PDF.
Put the PDF file in /sdcard/kindle/ and you'll find the book in your Kindle shelf.
If you don't have the folder 'kindle' on you SD card then you could create it with a file manager (like EStrongs File Explorer).

With my 'Aldiko' app I also can read PDF files. You could use Aldiko's own file explorer to start the PDF eBook.

But the best reader for PDF eBook is 'Mantano Reader' IMO :)
Free version in Market for trying.
