Transformer Prime tablet launch delayed for ICS **FALSE**

Read a story dated today...

According to an article over on Phone Arena by way of DigiTimes, unnamed sources from the upstream supply chain are claiming Asus has postponed the launch of the quad core Tegra 3 slate so the device can launch carrying Android 4.0.

The Asus Transformer Prime was apparently scheduled for release on the 9th of this month, however apparently the word is Google has agreed to assist Asus to bring Android Ice Cream Sandwich to the tablet and the new release date for the device has been scheduled for early in December.

IF true, it is a worthy delay IMHO as I would much rather get ICS from the factory.

ICs will only improve the tablet, so no disappointments here. Kinda anxious for the release date though.

I'm ok with this if it happens. They never said it would be released on the 9th, just that there would be an announcement. As long as it makes for an improvement in the user experience, sounds good.

Let me tell you my thoughts if they hold it off until Ice Cream Sandwitch is BS because you can update it later on I just hope its not true its just a software update not hardware.

Well, given today's release of price and specs, it looks like the delay for ICS did not happen as it says it will launch - likely in Dec - with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) and will be upgraded to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) shortly thereafter.

In a way, that kind of sucks as that means one may not want to root or trick it out to much at the start as ICS will likely reset it all given it is such a different OS.
