Help Transformer suddenly will not power on

tntnb

Lurker
Hi:

I've had my Transformer tablet for about a week. All was working fine until today. Last evening I plugged the tablet in to recharge and went to bed. When I tried to use the tablet this morning, it would not power on. The only thing that will happen is, if I press and hold down the Power button for a few seconds, a large icon that looks like a battery will display on the screen for a few seconds then disappear.

Please advise. Thanks.

Sounds dumb but are you positive it was charging when you plugged it in..?

I say this because I've been a victim of "wife unplugs to use vacuum and doesn't plug it back in" syndrome.

Sounds to me like the battery is dead. The wall charger may be faulty, unlikely, but entirely possible. I'd suggest trying a different wall out outlet & making sure the amber charging light (on the dock if you have it) is coming on, & charge until it changes to green. If you don't have the dock, charge for a few hours & try to power it on again.

The tablet is working again. I unplugged the charger from both the wall and the tablet, waited a moment, then plugged everything back up. After doing this, the tablet turned on when I pressed the power button.

The battery level was indeed at zero.

Thanks very much for your responses.

Cool, glad to hear it was something simple. FYI the TF will power on by itself when plugged in, at least mine does. I try to plug it in first, then power it down to insure it charges fully while I'm not using it. :D

yea this has happened to me twice in 7 months.... i left the tablet on and came back to it after a day and it was dead and i was just as scared...

when it doubt, plug it in the charger, come back an hour and see if it boots
