Hey all
I was wondering if there was a text translator app that could translate from a pic and then display the results in the same position as where the text was originally. I know there are lots of translator apps (like google goggles) but they all seem to do the translation and then show the result directly after each other, so it becomes very hard to distinguish which word belonged to which section. For example, I could take a pic of a road sign and it would display the results on the road sign but with the english translation over and could then see which word goes which direction. Another example would be a menu translation so you can see the ingredients for each dish corresponding to that price.
I saw an augmented reality app concept a long time ago where they held the phone camera on a menu and it translated the menu in real time, displayed as the menu was written. I haven't seen anything like that in the real world though.
Another plus would be to be able to download the dictionary and avoid roaming charges.
Anyone know of anything?
