Trash can not working in Widget Locker

A few days ago I upgraded to GB and also added a new widget for Gentle Alarm. I need to delete the old icon for Gentle Alarm on Widget Locker, but when I try to move the icon to the trashcan, nothing happens. The trash can icon pops up but if I move the alarm icon over it, the trash can simply disappears.

I have previously deleted the swipe that normally answers the phone so I could add another row of icons there (and all has worked fine), that may or may not have a bearing on this problem.

Any suggestions?

Does the icon turn red when you hover it over the trash can?

No, it pops up white.
