I tried to root my phone so I could install a new font, but the moment I did so, I got stuck on the boot screen that says what kind of phone I have and the only way to shut off my phone is to let the battery drain. I've done the wipe data and cache partition fix but that didn't help.

You'll need to re-flash it I think, as whatever the root did has corrupted and damaged the firmware, as just wiping data will not fix it otherwise. Should find the instructions and files you need here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/search/s7 edge/
