I've had this phone for like 3 years, and yesterday the Play Store ran automatic app updates, and almost immediately showed up a warning from CM Security saying that I had a security problem, then i ran the CM Security antivirus and said that I had a trojan in my pre-installed file manager. It said that the trojan was android.troj.hideicon.fy, and then I disabled the file manager, because I couldn't uninstall it.
Is this virus dangerous?
What does this virus do?
Most importantly, how do I delete it?

CM Security is your biggest concern.
They are known to send your information to China.
Unistall it would be your best move.

There's nothing I can find about " android.troj.hideicon.fy" being malware. I do see a good many threads from CM users asking about it, so I would go out on a limb here and say it's a false positive.

I would
a.) uninstall updates for your file manager and then disable the app.
b.) get rid of Clean Master and any related apps from them
c.) contact the File Manager developers and ask about the file/service.

Absolutely - lose ANY app from Cheetah Mobile! Uninstall them, clean the system cache and restart.

I agree with the other members on uninstalling CM antivirus app and I also believe in installing and running Malwarebytes antivirus app to see if it's any residuals left from CM antivirus app still lingering on your device.
