trouble loading non-google software

I have a ZTE Z992 phone and I am trying to use a non-Google play software. On other devices I have seen there is a way to choose to be able to use these types of programs by changing the default setting. I cannot find how to change this settling on the Z992.

I would be very appreciative to know how to do this on this phone. Thanks for your help.

It should be in the security settings - install from unknown sources is what you are looking for.

I don't know this phone, but that's where I'd normally expect to find it.
